Organic Lamb
Glendhu Station runs pure bred Romney sheep, which has been a challenge to run organically. But with the help of RFID tags, we are making steadily progress, tracking animal performance over the whole year.
We believe that food production must be as transparent as possible, and as consumer awareness increases, so too will the demand for quality produce like ours.
We run a flock of up to 3000 ewes which are pushed hard in a holistic management type grazing system to ensure we breed from the strongest stock. Althoh in some high worm burden years, we might drench our replacement lambs a third time, we do not drench any of the adults, unless it is vital. In this case, that sheep is quarantined and sold off the property before mating.
