Wool
We are proud of our wool and are researching markets for it.
We produce between 10000 -15000 kilograms of wool each year which has zero chemical residues.
The wool is between 33 – 37 micron and is second shear meaning we shear the sheep twice a year instead of annually. This is generally because our fleece is more bulky than a mid-micron or a merino there fore there is more risk of sheep getting cast. We are aiming to market this wool as a truly sustainable product so if anyone has any ideas or experience in this area, please let us know. We would love to keep our wool as a NZ made product if it were possible.
